Joyce Bailey Weatherall April 5, 1922 - July 11, 2012

Joyce Bailey Weatherall, 90, of Port Arthur, Texas, was born on April 5, 1922, in her beloved Shelby County. Joyce passed away peacefully on July 11, 2012. After graduating from Joaquin High School, she attended Stephen F. Austin on a voice scholarship majoring in Home Economics and Physical Education. Active in a variety of college activities, she was elected a campus beauty all four years. After moving to Port Arthur she taught Home Economics, Science, and Physical Education for over 30 years, primarily at Woodrow Wilson and Franklin schools. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Spurgeon and Isabel Bailey, husband, Lee, and daughter, Rebecca. She is survived by her sons, Bill, wife Marguerite, and Charles, wife Carol, grandchildren Jennifer Clevenger, husband Brian, Ben Weatherall, wife Shanell, Katie Plunkett, husband Robert, and Shelby Weatherall, and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Wennerbom of Center, Texas, and nieces Susan Wennerbom and Judy Parsons.
