Gladys Olivia Schnell Clark, 81, of Port Neches, Texas passed away at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas on Monday, October 29, 2012. She was born on April 24, 1931 to Selma Domaschk Schnell and Albert Schnell in Serbin, Texas. Gladys has been a resident of the area since 1947. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Gladys enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, tending to her garden and her occasional trips to the casino. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral Service will be at 10 AM Friday, November 2, 2012 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Nederland with Rev. Francis Schroeder, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Oliver, Robert Stroder, Jerry Mitcham, Shane Trahan, Ric Carver and Mason Carver. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wilmer Joseph Clark. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Carol Oliver and husband Chris of Groves, Texas, her son, Kenneth Clark and wife Deb of Beaumont, Texas, three grandchildren, Allison Mitcham and husband Jerry, Shannon Carver and husband Ric, Shane Trahan and wife Melissa, step-grandson, Garrett Syphrept along with her five great grandchildren, Mason Carver, Stephanie Carver, Keegan Trahan, Ty Trahan and Jaxson Trahan. She is also survived by her sister, Lillian Fulcer of Wisconsin as well as several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, family request memorial contributions to the American Heart Association in memory of Gladys.
