Romeo S. delaRosa August 19, 1952 - January 22, 2013

Romeo S. delaRosa, 60, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. He was born on August 19, 1952 to Aurora Sanchez delaRosa and Augustin delaRosa In Allede, Coahuila, Mexico. Romeo has been a resident of the area for 59 years. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1970. Romeo retired from Chevron as a pipefitter after 27 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Friday, January 25, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. T. R. Blanco serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother, David delaRosa and his sister, Sylvia delaRosa. Romeo is survived by his two sons, Romeo delaRosa, Jr. and Jesse delaRosa both of Port Arthur, their mother and caregiver, Patricia delaRosa of Nederland, his mother, Aurora delaRosa of Port Arthur, his six sisters, Maria Zapata of Beaumont, Lydia Rojas of Port Arthur, Estela Garza of Groves, Orlia Flores of Port Neches, Diana Elizondo of Ingleside, Margarita Valma of Houston, five brothers, Augustin delaRosa, Jr. of Groves, Richard delaRosa and Joe delaRosa both of Nederland, Stanley delaRosa of Groves, Johnny delaRosa of Port Arthur, numerous nieces and nephews.
