Ella Benoit, 89 of Port Acres passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Cypress Glenn East Nursing home in Port Arthur. Ella was born in Church Point, LA on February 16, 1924 to Willie and Marceline Cormier and lived there until she married and moved toPort Acres, TX. Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph Gelton Benoit, son Charles Benoit and grandson Donald Benoit. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Lurlin Benoit and wife Vickie of Port Arthur, TX, Bobby Benoit and wife Debbie of Alpena, AR, and daughter Barbra Ann Benoit of Jasper, TX. She was blessed to have 8 grand children and 17 great grand children and 1 great great grandson. Mamom as she was called by her grandchildren and many of the children she care for over the years was a Godly women. Her effect on them shows in their lives today. All whom knew her were better for knowing her as she was the best example of "The Wife of Noble Character" mentioned in chapter 31 of the book of Proverbs. Visitation and Rosary will be Monday March 4, 2013 at 5 - 8 pm and Funeral Services Tuesday March 5, 2013 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home and burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial.
