John F. Adams, III July 8, 1959 - March 6, 2013

John F. "J. J." Adams, III, 53, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. He was born on July 8, 1959 to Audrey Nell Smith Adams and John F. Adams, Jr. in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of the area. After graduating from high school, he joined the U. S. Navy. John was employed as a supervisor with Brock Services for numerous years, where he worked at several refineries in the country. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael W. Adams and his sister, Jo Nell Adams. John is survived by his mother, Audrey N. Adams of Port Arthur, Texas, father, John F. Adams Jr. and family of Batavia, Illinois, his daughter, Katie Johnston and husband Rocky of Groves, Texas, his two grandchildren, Ian McCloud and Axel Johnston along with his brother, Paul A. Adams and family of Vidor, Texas, aunt, Betty Jo and husband Preston A. Lange Sr., as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Memorial Service will be at 6:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
