Nora Riojas
October 18, 1955 - March 22, 2013
Nora Riojas, 57, of Nederland, Texas passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston on Friday, March 22, 2013. She was born on October 18, 1955 to Natividad Hernandez Riojaz and Eliseo Riojaz in Alpine, Texas. Nora has been a resident of Nederland for over 38 years. She worked as an operator for Unocal for ten years and then worked at Motiva as an operator for 20 years. Nora was a very loving and caring person with a heart of gold, always thinking of others. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2013 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Fernando Castro, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dale Harmon. Nora is survived by her parents, Eliseo and Natividad Riojaz of Port Arthur, Texas, her sisters, Susie Harmon of Port Neches, Texas, Linda Martinez and husband Lupe of Port Arthur, Texas, her brothers, Eliseo Riojas, Jr. of Alaska and Roy Riojas and wife Paula of Georgia. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews (whom Nora loved as her own children) Sharon Martinez, Corey Harmon, Jeremy Riojas, Jennifer Martinez, Aaron Riojas and Caleb Harmon, her great nieces and nephews (whom Nora loved as her own grandchildren) Alyssa, Jake, Jackson and Cole.

What a great person she was. She was a great friend. She made us all laugh and always helped if you needed it. I'm glad to have had her in my life. She has great parents, and a wonderful family. To know Nora was to love her. I don't think there was anyone that didn't love her. She was something else. I'm so glad to have known her. Love and prayers for the family.

To my best friend, and my frist love....I want you to know how much you will be missed. I have missed the last month and a half for our serveral times a day talks..........That was very had for me and your death is very hard, but I know you are with our Lord, Jesus Christ, and have your crown oj Jewels, your manison, and walking thoses streets of gold.....I know you are in no more pain, or suffering, and are in Gods hands now...I want to thank you for making me the person I am today, and introducing me to the love of my, life Vickie(R.I.P. my sweet heart)...You give her the biggest hug and kiss for me, tell her how much I miss her, and please tell the rest of my friends and family that has left us how much I miss them and love them. I worked with Nora at Motiva, where we became friends as well as co-workers. "Kid" will always hold a special place in my heart. Dear Susie, We spoke at Dale's visitation. He and I went to school together. I had the opportunity to know and work with Nora who kept me up to date with what Dale was up to during the years. Her colorful personality will be sorely missed by many at Motiva. I am so sorry for your loss and as you know,She and Dale are truly healed now by The Great Physician and I pray this will bring great peace and comfort to you and the family.
