Ernestine Galvan Subia Ernestine Subia, 86 of Port Arthur, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur. Ernestine was born in Port Arthur, TX on March 6, 1927 to Jose Marina and Felize Hernandez Galvan. She was a life long resident of the Port Arthur area. Ernestine was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and a sister. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Felipe Subia, Sr. of Nederland, TX; her son, Felipe Subia, Jr. of Kountze, TX; daughters, Helen Davis of Port Arthur, Mary Lou Subia Arciva of Port Arthur, Mary Ernestine Navarro of Pattison, TX, Josie McKinny of Pattison, TX, Pauline Subia of Groves, TX and Veronica Subia Elchehabi of Houston, TX; a brother, Tony Galvan of Port Arthur, TX; sisters, Mary Ortiz of Groves, TX and Secorro Guerro of Houston, TX; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. T.R. Blanco officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

We are both very sorry for your family's lose. I did keep up with her health during her stay at the hospital. Pauline, Lulu and Helen I would visit when I saw them at the hospital and they would keep me updated. I know that she will be truly missed by all of her family. My sweet beautiful Maw Maw, I still can't believe that you are gone. My heart wont accept it. Its a nightmare that I cannot wake up from. All I want is for you to hug me and tell me that everything is going to be okay. Being in your arms would make all the horrible things go away and I felt safe in them.
