Ernest Chester O'Quinn May 20, 1921 - July 19, 2013

Ernest C. O'Quinn, age 92 passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013. Ernest was born on May 20, 1921 to Jessie and Julia Vincent O'Quinn in Sulphur, LA. He was a resident of the Port Arthur area for over 70 years. Ernest retired from Union Oil after 31 years of service as an inspector. Ernest enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in July, 1942 and was discharged in July, 1946 after serving our country during W.W. II with the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents and son Randy O'Quinn. He is survived by his wife Ethel O'Quinn, sons, Mike and his wife Linda Yentzen O'Quinn of Hemphill, Texas, Dennis O'Quinn of Hemphill, Texas, Jimmy and his wife Stacy Latimer O'Quinn of Beaumont, Texas, Tim and his wife Denise Williams O'Quinn of Groves, daughter, Connie Melancon and husband Lynn Melancon of Little Cypress, TX, sister, Mary Myers of Sulphur, LA. and 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be prayed at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday. July23, 2013 with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
