A Life Remembered

Obituary

Patricia Gale Flowers June 12, 1958 - July 22, 2013

Patricia Gale Flowers, 55, of Port Arthur passed away Monday July 22, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Trish was born and raised in Orange Texas. She graduated from West Orange high school and received her Associates Degree from Lamar University before later moving to the Port Arthur / Groves area. She worked in the radiology field for many years, before retiring from St. Mary Hospital. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, dancing, listening to music, cooking, crafting, walking her dog, shopping with her mom and her sisters, laughing with old friends, and talking with her sons every day. Her sense of humor, infectious laugh and her smile will be remembered by all lucky enough to know her. Tricia was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her loyalty and fierce dedication to her family and sons will be remembered by everyone who knew her. Even through her illness, her thoughts and concerns were for her family's well-being rather than her own. She selflessly dedicated her life to making sure the people she loved were taken care of because that is what truly made her happy. Patricia is preceded in death by her father James H Wood Jr. of Orange and all of her beloved Grandparents. She is survived by her mother Wanda Wood, sons Chris Flowers and Patrick Flowers (Michelle), Granddaughter Emree Flowers, "Dog-child" Owen. Sisters and their spouses Belinda Russell (Rick) , Paula LaGrone (Kevin), and Kathy Thomasson (Mark), Nieces Monica Raney , Jennifer Thomasson, and Jesseca Curley, Nephews Dean Thomasson and Jody LaGrone. Ex-husband, friend, and father of her children, Jimbo Flowers, in addition to many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all of whom loved her dearly. Special thanks to Angela Juneau and Terika Robinson of New Century Hospice for all their compassionate care. Visitation will be from 5-8pm, Wednesday evening, July 24th, at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. An informal memorial service will be held Thursday night, July 25th from 6-8pm also at Clayton Thompson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patricia Gale Flowers Memorial Fund through www.LUNGevity.org or www.Bound4ThePound.org animal charity.

I have had the pleasure of calling Patricia family. Her smile was always her stongest asset and very contagious to everyone she met. She was a wonderful daughter, sister and cousin.
