Iva Mae Fernandez July 6, 1926 - August 9, 2013

Iva Mae Coody Fernandez age 87 of Groves, passed away on August 9, 2013 at her residence in Groves. She was born on July 6, 1926 in Orange, Texas to Zilla Mae Hancock Coody and James Ivy Coody.Iva was a homemaker and co-owner of Sure Shot Game Calls, Inc. Iva was a former hair dresser and a member of Stonegate Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Diana Kaye Fernandez, sister, Elaine Cowan and her brother, Everst Coody. Iva leaves her most precious memories with her husband of 60 years James "Cowboy" Fernandez, her children James Williams of Eugene, Oregon, Linda Faye Mayberry and husband Bob of Rye, Texas, Floyd James Fernandez and wife Gail of Valencia, California and Sandra Gaye Arnold and husband Stephen of Groves, Texas. Also her grandchildren, Kimberly Prince of Cleveland, Texas, Kevin Mayberry and wife Misty of Nederland, Texas, Curtis Arnold of Beaumont, Texas, Kelli Sandoval and husband Jesse of Austin, Texas, Leslie Rowley of Groves, Texas, Brittany Taylor and husband Matt of Groves, Texas Wendy Apkarian of Buena Park, California and Jeannie Mansfield of Castaic, California, great grandchildren, Christopher, Christian, Keely, Loryn, Courtney, Kaylee, Garrett, Sadie, Guy, Gabrielle, Luke, Taileen, Maranda, Hayden, sister, Fern Bell of Weatherford, Texas, sister-in-law, Mercedes Dutton of Baytown, Texas and brother-in-law Ralph Fernandez of Los Angeles, California and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home with her Funeral Service on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Thompson Memorial Chapel of Clayton Thompson with internment to follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery.
