Robert L. Eldridge February 25, 1931 - October 9, 2013

Robert L. "Gabby" Eldridge, age 82 of Sabine Pass, Texas passed away on October 9, 2013 at a local health care facility. Gabby was born in Sabine Pass, Texas to Henry and Emma Jennings Eldridge. He was a life long resident of Sabine Pass and the owner of R.L. Eldridge Construction / Gabby's Dock. Gabby was a member of the Sabine Pass United Methodist Church, a former president of the Dick Dowling Lions Club, Former Leader Dog Chairman of Lions District 2S1, Former Board member of the EDC of Port Arthur and current member Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce. Visitation will be on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home Funeral service to be held in Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 with burial to follow at Sabine Pass Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Bonnie Gray and Beulah Bellaire and his daughter, Nancy Parton. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Teller Eldridge of Sabine Pass, Texas, his son, Jerry Eldridge and his wife Darvis of Sabine Pass, Texas, his daughter, Terri Thompson and husband Tim of Nederland, Texas, step-son, Kimothy Sanders of Austin, Texas, four grandchildren, Marshall Parrish, Heathe Stagg, Krystle Soderholm and Connor Thompson, four great grandchildren, Madison, Mikayla, and Marshal Parrish, Jr. and Remi Soderholm. He is also survived by his sister, Dudie Ezell of Orange, Texas, his brother, Jennings Eldridge and wife Doris of Sabine Pass, Texas, many nieces and nephews.
