James Clifton "Buck" Buchanan September 10, 1928 - November 20, 2013
James Clifton Buck' Buchanan, a sweet, sweet man went to be with Jesus at his home, on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 with his loving wife and family by his side. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A native of Port Arthur, Texas and lifelong resident of the area. He worked at Texaco Inc. as a machinist for 37 years. After retirement he went to work for Bruce's Pharmacy for over 20 years. Buck was a cherished deliveryman to all of Bruce's customers. He was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas. He enjoyed being with family, friends and all. He was a blessing to everyone privileged to be a part of his life. His wife, Elsie of 65 years, survives him and eight children, 17 grandchildren and 11 great grand children. His daughters are Donna Whitehead; husband Tony, and Terri Buchanan. His sons and spouses are Alex and Chris, Danny and Belinda, Jeff and Verlene, Mark and Debra, David and Liz, Jimbo and Cathy Buchanan. His grandchildren and spouses are Paul & Ashley, Stephanie, Scott & Jenny, Janae & Wyatt, Jacob & Robin, Jeremy & Melissa, Brook, Lindsey & Marcus, Brent & Elizabeth, Blake & Kara, Morgan & Paul, Tyler & Kristen, Travis & JL, Taylor & Brandon, Trent, Chelsey and Justin. He is also survived by his sister in-law Virginia Broussard, and brother in law, Alex and Ro Cessac. The visitation will be held at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves from 5-8 pm, with a Rosary to be prayed at 7 pm Friday, November 22. A Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. David Placette officiating will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 23 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Entombment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. The family wants to give special thanks to Southern Home Health and Odyssey Hospice. Special Angels Sharon Burke and Paulette Treibel. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3706 Woodrow Drive, Port Arthur, TX., 77642.
