Daniel S. Moore January 30, 1945 - December 12, 2013

Capt. Daniel S. Moore, 68, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Dubuis Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas. He was born in Harlingen, Texas on January 30, 1945 to Hazel Ruth Schrock Moore and Carley Leroy Moore Sr. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and retired as a tugboat captain after many years of service affiliated with Tarpon Enterprises. Daniel is survived by his wife, Katie Thomas of Nederland, three step-daughters, Tanya Thomas of Nederland, Rhonda Thomas of Denton, Terrie Thomas of Port Arthur, 5 step grandchildren and his brother, Samuel C. Moore of Houston. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Memorial Service with Full Military Honors will be at 4:00 PM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors.
