Gloria Ramirez Cantu April 30, 1929 - January 7, 2014 Gloria Cantu, 84, of Nederland, died on January 7, 2014 at her home. She was born on April 30, 1929 to Epigmenio and Andrea Ramirez in Waco, Texas. She has resided in Port Arthur and Nederland, Texas most of her life. She was a loving homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Raul Cantu of Nederland, daughters, Adela Martinez and her husband, Juan of Beaumont, Gloria Zumo and her husband, Allan of Nederland, grandchildren, B. J. Martinez and his wife, Terri of Beaumont, Vanessa Melancon and her husband, Derek of Beaumont, Bryan Zumo and his wife, Jess of Port Neches, Nicholas Zumo and his wife, Kristen of Nederland, 8 great-grandchildren, sister, Lillie Chavez of Nederland. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Tim, Paul, Felix, Albert, Izabelo and Rudy Ramirez, sisters, Pauline Rojo and Izabella Ramirez. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Rev. Msgr. Dan Malain serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
