Estelle Catherine Andrepont

Estelle Catherine Andrepont September 28, 1926 - February 14, 2014

Estelle "Totty" Catherine Andrepont passed away at the Rose House in Pt. Arthur on February 14, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She followed her husband of 64 years, Willie, to heaven just seven weeks after his death, also from Alzheimer's. Totty was born in Pt Arthur in 1926. She graduated from St Mary's High School in 1944. Totty was working at Merchant's bank after WWII when she met her future husband, Willie. They married in 1949 and started their family. Willie was soon called back to the service during the Korean Conflict. Totty and their first child moved to California to be near him. During the next two years as Willie traveled back and forth overseas, Totty, like many military wives, gave birth to two more children without her husband by her side. She and her small children moved to California and back to Pt Arthur twice to be near Willie. After the war, they moved to Pt Arthur so that Willie could attend college. Totty happily followed him, adding two more children to their family. Totty once again supported and encouraged her sweetheart as they moved to Houston so that he could attend dental school. They were blessed with three more children during this time. While Willie was attending school and working, Totty was proudly and lovingly raising their eight children (all under the age of 11). In 1961 Totty once again followed her husband back to Pt Arthur as he opened his dental practice. She devoted her life to caring for her children as Willie worked. She cooked, cleaned, ironed, packed lunches, rocked babies, dried tears and a thousand other things for her eight children. She was an amazing woman who could do anything she wanted to! She loved all music, was a seamstress, artist, musician, loved to sing and loved being by the water. Totty did NOT like to cook but owned every kitchen gadget and cookbook available! Totty's door was always open to anyone. Totty was a devout Catholic who faithfully attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves. She raised her children in the church and in Catholic schools. She brought up her children saying the family rosary kneeling around their bed. She leaned on her faith throughout her life and was an example to her family. Totty's husband, Willie, was the USMC pilot who served in 2 wars and a dentist but she was the wind beneath his wings, staying home to care for their children, always standing in his shadow, holding him up. She will be missed. Go to heaven Momma you've earned it and Daddy is waiting for you along with Buddy and Ricky. She is preceded in death by her parents, Zula and Mentor Beaugh; her sisters, Genevieve Smith, Lucille Roberts Janes, Jeanette Borel and two of her sons, John W. "Buddy" Andrepont, Jr. and Ricky Andrepont. She is survived by her daughters, Kay Hebert and husband Kirk of Brentwood, Tennessee, Joanie Romero of Port Arthur, Carol Andrepont of Katy, Phyllis Guidry and husband Jerry of Port Neches and Colleen Andrepont of Groves, her son, Joe Andrepont and wife Angela of Dallas, grandchildren, Lance Hebert (Deann), Andrea Branoff (Andrew), Dr. Ross Romero, Matt Romero, Jeff Romero, Clint Falgout (Aimee), Laura Montondon (Mickey), Brent Guidry, Michael Andrepont (Suzanne), Christopher Andrepont (Nikki) and Brad Andrepont along with 7 great grandchildren, Adeline and Amelia Hebert, Anthony and Michael Branoff, Benjamin Falgout, Drake and Ford Andrepont. She is also survived by her brother Charles Beaugh (Bobbie) and sister Jo Ann Webre (Jerome). Totty's pallbearers will be her nine grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Kirk Hebert, Jerry Guidry, Andrew Branoff and Mickey Montondon. Visitation will be on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 5:00PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with Rev. David Edwards serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank The Rose House, River City Hospice and We Care Providers for their compassion and care.

Joanie and Colleen, How lucky I am to have you girls as my friends. I know you mother must have been a real angel here on earth because the 2 of you are too! You must have gotten your humor from her. Looking at your mother's picture I just see you both in it. Beautiful! It's tough on us left behind, but that glorious reunion in heaven hopefully has given you some kind of comfort. Love you always! Sherry

What a beautiful lady in this life, Dear Lord. Anytime I came in contact with Totty, I could feel her graciousness and kindness. She and Willie were truly filled with your Spirit, Dear Father. May she rest in peace with her dearly beloved. Grant her family here on Earth peace, love, and beautiful memories. I pray this through Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ!

I was saddened to hear of Totty's passing, but it is comforting to know that she will be in Heaven for eternity with the love of her life. Just like at my house, there was never a dull moment in the Andrepont household in the 60's! My memories of her are that she always seemed to have a smile on her face and she could always brighten up your day. Even when she got mad at us boys for tearing up stuff around her house, she didn't stay mad for very long. I have wonderful memories of the Andrepont family from my childhood, and you are all in my prayers at this difficult time.

To my loving family. I am so sorry that I will not be able to attend the services tomorrow. Please know that my heart goes out to each of you. I will always remember the fun times that I had at the Andrepont house. Watching home movies, signing and dancing around with the whole family gathered there. Rest in peace Aunt Totty and put on a good dance show with Uncle Willie in heaven!!!

What an awesome lady, I recognized more than 30 yrs ago that Mrs Andrepont was a special lady, wife and Mother! I heard stories of her care of her family on numerous occasions and was privileged to observe it many times. A Mom insisting her family drink fresh squeezed juice daily ensuring their health and never minding the personal effort it took to make it happen day after day! So obvious she loved being "the wind beneath her husband's and families' wings" - but oh such a gentle and soothing breeze. It is so rare to find a lady of this caliber! That is exactly why the scripture in Proverbs 31:28 is so applicable "Her children arise and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her". Thank you Phyllis and family for unselfishly sharing your Mother. I give honor to you for the reverence and care of both your Father and your Mother. Surely you will be blessed as once again the Word of a God declares in the 5th commandment to "honor thy father and mother that thy days may be long upon the earth which The Lord thy God giveth thee". Exodus 20

Aunt Totty you will be missed. I have so many fond memories when I went to visit Kay in the summer. I will never forget every Saturday we all lined up to get our hair washed by you. I thought you had the most magical hands! Love you my sweet Aunt Totty!
