Melvin, we are going to miss you deeply. You are the one that kept the family in the know of other family members. You made special efforts to come to Louisiana and visit as many relatives as possible. Sometimes we had to learn of a relatives situation through you, even though the relative lived a few miles from us. Your constant joking and picking and hearty laughter brought a light to all of us. We have so many great memories of you, thanks to you. To all of Melvin's children and grandchildren, we send our deepest sympathies and we have you all in our prayers. Our hearts are heavy with sadness.

Uncle Melvin is one of my favorite people in the world. He called me every Christmas to catch up with the family and to chat. He always told me how proud of me he was and it meant a lot to me. I know that he was a man who would do anything for anyone. Our vacations to visit him and Aunt Juanita were always fun and we looked so forward to going to visit every year. I will miss him so much. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, my cousins.
