Marcos Serna November 3, 1946 - April 25, 2014

Marcos Serna, 67, of Port Acres, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014. He was born on November 3, 1946 in Hebbronville, Texas to the late Antonio Serna and the late Maria del Refugio Cuellar Serna. Upon graduating high school, he entered the United States Army and proudly served for three years achieving the rank of SPC. Upon honorable discharge from his service, he moved to Port Arthur where he worked for 40 years and retired from Valero. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lucila Serna; his son Marcos Serna, Jr.; son, Carlos Serna and wife Courtney, son Ricardo Serna and wife Leslie; grandsons, Noah Serna, Jonah Serna and Caleb Serna; sisters, Amada Garcia and Aida Garza and her husband, Raul. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 4-9 PM with a Rosary prayed at 7 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, Groves, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Avenue, Port Arthur, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens, Highway 69, Nederland, Texas. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Harbor Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Avenue, Port Arthur, TX 77640.

A good man has left this world and passed to the next. Growing up he was one of our other dad's in the neighborhood. He looked after us just as our biological parents, and I will always remember him for all of the good memories we had. You will be missed.
