Mary Lou Weddell August 11, 1929 - May 8, 2014

Mary Lou Weddell, 84, of Groves, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was born on August 11, 1929 to Mary Jane Babers and Moise Blanchard in Port Arthur, Texas. Mary has been a resident of the Groves area for most of her life. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Arthur. She loved volunteering at Renaissance Hospital and at the Groves Senior Citizen Hall. Mary was also a member of the Mary-Martha Circle LWML. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Timothy Dinger officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Lindel Weddell; her parents; her son, David Weddell; her sister, Barbara Dartez and her brother, John Harold Blanchard. Mary is survived by her daughter, Liz and her husband, Gene Tomlinson of Port Arthur, Texas; sisters, Gertrude Aucoin of Thibodaux, LA, Connie Whelan of San Jose, CA; four grandchildren, Stephanie Coley, Marcus Tomlinson, Rebecca Sanders, Ashlee Weddell and four great grandchildren.
