Betty Bell, 92 of Groves, TX passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Christus St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur. Betty was born in Monterey, Mexico on September 2, 1921 to Marguerite Ricker and Harry Speed. Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Bell and a son, James Bell, Jr.. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Aucoin of Bridge City, TX; daughter-in-law, Rachel Bell of Nederland, TX; sister, Audry Player of New Braunfels, TX; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a special friend, Bob Gardner for many years. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Aunt Betty touched many lives throughout her life. She was my mom's big sister. What a wonderful christian! I know she and my Mom are talking over all of their life experiences together growing up now. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
