Thomas Santos Vega
August 28, 1953 - July 4, 2014
Thomas Vega, 60 of Groves, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Thomas was born in Port Arthur, TX on August 28, 1953 to Henry and Dolores Martinez Vega. Thomas retired from Dubuis Hospital in Port Arthur as a LVN after 10 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Thomas was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Donna Vega of Groves; son, Don Henry Vega and his wife Lacey of Port Neches, TX; daughter, Rachel Guidry and husband Alton of Port Neches; brothers, Eugene Vega of Georgia, John Vega of Groves, Michael Vega of Fannett; sister, Mary Martinez of Houston and 2 grandchildren, Ella Guidry and Kyra Guidry. Visitation will be on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. J.C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery..

Having Thomas for a friend has and working with him has been a joy in my life. He made dreary days at work fun. He was was such a compassionate friend and nurse. Very caring with patients and always there to offer concern and a sympathetic ear to friends. I know he will be missed by all who loved and knew him. My prayers are with you Donna and all the family. RIP my friend. We will meet again.
