Dahlia "Dollie" Elaine Collazo
April 5, 1938 - September 25, 2014
Dahlia E. "Dollie" Collazo, 76, of Groves, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. She was born on April 5, 1938 to Eloise Morua Valdez and Alfred Valdez in Port Arthur, Texas. Dollie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1956 and the Hotel Dieu Nursing Program, where she received a degree in radiology. She retired from Dupont-Orange as an instrumentation after 21 years of service. She was a lifelong resident of the Port Arthur/Groves area and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 AM with Rev. T. R. Blanco serving as celebrant. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves. She is survived by her loving husband, Bruno Collazo of Groves, Texas, her daughter, Maria Collazo Delgadillo of Groves, Texas, her sons, Russell "Rusty" Collazo of Port Arthur, Texas and Stephen Collazo and wife Jeannie of Nederland, Texas, seven grandchildren, Ruston Kennedy, Blake McGlaun, Fallon Estrello, Dahlia Delgadillo, Mia Delgadillo, Alyssa Collazo and Brianna Collazo. She is also survived by her sisters, Minnie Valdez and Bobbye Valdez both of Dallas, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews.
