Myrtle Boutte March 17, 1930 - November 15, 2014

Myrtle "Granny" Boutte, 84, of Groves passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana and a resident of the area for 70 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, November 17, 2014 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. She was preceded in death her parents, her twelve siblings, her husband, J. B. Boutte and her son, Glenn Prince. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Manes and husband, Robert of Groves, two grandchildren, Jerrex Manes of Groves, Rachel Suliburk and husband, James of Houston.

I was right next door to Miss Myrtle for 4 years. I miss having coffee with her and listening to her stories of her life. Everyone in the complex knew her and knew she watched over us all. She will be truly missed.

I was Miss Myrtles neighbor for 3 years at the LaPlace Apts.She was a Joy to be around shared a hug and a kiss on the cheek often.Miss Myrtle always wanted to help her neighbors including me.She loved her plants and flowers.I think she watered mine when I wasn't around.I will miss her very much...Cathy Apt #4
