Dixie Townsend, 78, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014 at her residence. She was born January 7, 1936 to Lavina Kusch Townsend and Harry Townsend in Rio Grande City, Texas. She lived in Rayburn Country for 25 years and was a resident of the area for 10 years. She retired from the accounting department at Texaco Marine. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 4:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 20, 2014 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, Texas. She is preceded in death her parents; a sister, Mozelle Rollins and a friend Anna Ruth Vogelvang. She is survived by her nephews, Thomas Rollins of Pensacola, Florida, Monty Rollins of Pensacola, Florida; and a niece, Deborah Hodvisky of Foley.
