Gary J. Cormier, 81, of Port Arthur passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born on October 29, 1933 to Edna LeBlanc Cormier and Dieu Donna Cormier in Cecilia, Louisiana. Gary has been a resident of the Port Arthur for over 60 years. He served in Texas National Guard for 12 years. Gary worked as a lab technician with over 40 years of service at various facilities in the area. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Kevin Badeaux, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ted Cormier, his son, Wally Cormier and his granddaughter, Lisa Cormier. He is survived by his loving wife, Lili Cormier of Port Arthur, two daughters, Susan Bourque and Michelle Jones both of Nederland, five sons, Clint Cormier and Max Cormier both of Port Arthur, Blaine Cormier and his wife, Liz of Groves, Gary Cormier II and his wife, Julie of Bridge City, Anthony Cormier of Port Arthur, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Carrie Selenas, Nada Mallett, Amelia Guidry and Luda Cormier, his brother, David Cormier along with numerous nieces and nephews.
