Roy Castaneda November 2, 1939 - January 11, 2015

Roy Castaneda, 75, of Groves, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born on November 2, 1939 to Carmen Fabella Castaneda and Cenobio Castaneda in Port Arthur. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He served in the United States Marine Corp Reserves. Roy retired from Longshoreman's Local 25 as a longshoreman with the Port of Port Arthur after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Maria and Irene, his brothers, Cenobio Jr., and Paubo. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Louise Castaneda of Groves, his son, Michael Roy Castaneda of Groves, his daughters, Angela Everett and husband, Zach of Waco, Texas, Christina Puente and husband, Jesus of Houston, Texas, Christina Lynn Pope of Jasper, Texas, Vickie Rachal of Austin, Texas, his grandchildren, Meagan Everett, Allison Everett, Justus Everett, Nina Everett, Gretchen Everett and Summer Everett all of Waco, Texas, Naomi Puente and Bella Puente both of Houston, Texas and Aron Roy of Groves. He is also survived by his sister, Chena Capallera of Beaumont, Texas, his brothers, Simon "Munchy" Castaneda of Groves, Jesse Castaneda of Bridge City, Texas and Alex Castaneda of Louisiana along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors.
