For the last several days I've been sharing family remembrances and "A,J. stories" with my family. Grandma Badgett's house was quite lively all the time when the cousins gathered, but A.J. put an extra emphasis on boisterous! I so want to hug each and every one of you at this time of sadness. Hopefully, you will find joy in the many memories you share of A.J. and his love for all of you. May God bless each of you and give you the comfort that only He can provide.

I was sad to read about AJ's passing. I have many memories from our growing up years in PA and Lake Sabine. AJ was always a fun loving, happy person whom I had the privilege of knowing. Our families were both members of the Lake Sabine Sailing Club and my earliest memory of AJ was seeing him in his garage with the Nuage Bluanc, a beautiful sailboat his father was building. Then later sailing on it more than a few times, once sailing it from the Houston Yacht Club, through Galveston Bay and down the ship channel to PA. I guess our parents must have trusted us as we could not have been more than 16-17. One not so pleasant memory, except for seeing his indomitable spirit triumph over adversity, was seeing his blackened face in the hospital after getting burned in an explosion on the Nuage Blanc. AJ healed up and never looked back. I extend my sympathy to his family. I know he will be missed.

"A grandparent's house is where cousins become best friends." And that certainly was true of our cousins. We spent so much time at Grandma Badgett's house and then at each other's homes. So many good times to remember. We've lost a family member, a cousin, a friend in A.J. He will be missed by all of us, and of course, especially by Pam, his children, and his sisters. I pray for comfort for each of you...that God will wrap his loving arms around you and comfort your hearts. I know the many memories of him will bring you joy in times to come. I love each of you very much. Cousins are truly best friends and will always be there for each other.

Rest in peace Mr. Romero! You will be greatly missed. We had lots of laughs at dialysis. It was a pleasure to take care of you! and thank you Miss Pam for all the sweet treats you made us, so thoughtful. Love always, Amanda (amander)
