Maria Solis Burns May 25, 1937 - November 9, 2015
Maria Socorro Solis Burns, age 78 of Nederland passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Port Arthur on May 25, 1937 to Dionisio and Maria Vallejo Solis. Maria was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, sang in the choir and a member of A.C.E. car club. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Felix Soliz, Don S. Solis, Sr., Johnny J. Solis and sister, Theresa Garcia. She is survived by husband of 56 years, Charles Lee Burns, sons, Charles K. "Chuck" Burns, David Lee (Deborah) Burns, granddaughter, Teslynn Nicole, great-granddaughter, Willow Rae, brother, G. Jimmy Solis (Henrietta) of Groves, Austin Solis (Marjorie) of Port Arthur, sisters, Anna Maria Solis, Henrietta Solis and Victoria S. Melancon (Bill) of Nederland, numerous nieces nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with Msgr. Kenneth Greig officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to St. Catherine Catholic Church, 3706 Woodrow Drive, Port Arthur, Texas 77642-2320
