I was one of Ms. Hill's student at Coakley Jr. High. Her passion towards music inspired my love of music even further. He desire for us as students (as a group and individually). Will never be forgotten. I remember our conversations about Jim Croce, Barry Manilow and other singers that I grew up with to this day) as well as her Blue Car..Hahaha. She would often let me take home sheet music with Lyrics so I could memorize or write down the lyrics. I especially remember how she selected for us to perform "Blow Blow thou Winter Wind" by Ritter to sing at competition (This was the same year the ALL-State choir performed it)...she was hard on us to get it just right, but that is because she knew we had the potential to do it). Lo and behold, we sang it and earned a 1 during that competition. Lastly, I remember her 2 favorite sayings "Drop kick me Jesus through the goal posts of life" and the famous "Let's NOT and say we DID". My Life was definitely better because she was a part of it.

I was one of Ms Hill's first choir students back in 1980. She was not only a very good teacher but a wonderful person and friend. I have looked for her over the years on social media to tell her how much she meant to me. Sadly, this time I found her. I'm so sorry I missed her! I wish I could have told her .

When I transferred to Baylor in 1976 I was blessed to be able to sing in the A Cappella Choir which is where I met Rossan. She befriended me almost immediately which was a blessing for me. I had reconnected with her a few years ago for which Im so grateful. God bless you, my friend. Youre reunited with family and Im sure youre using that beautiful voice to sing in a choir - probably directed by Dr. Porter - which makes me smile.
