Delbert Lee Holstead February 3, 1936 - December 25, 2015
Delbert Lee Holstead passed away peacefully December 25, 2015 at home surrounded by family.
A native of Port Arthur, he was an avid golfer and hunter. He served on the Port Arthur Country Club Board of Directors and was active in the Port Arthur Rotary Club, Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce and the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas Association (IIAT). He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Groves.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Louise Holstead, daughters, Wendy Holstead (Mark) Irwin and Christi Holstead Chambers, son, Benny Epperson and brother David Holstead. He is preceded in death by wife, Phyllis Holstead and daughter, Lisa Holstead (Michael) Dorbandt. He was lovingly known as “Big Daddy” to his grandchildren Alana Dorbandt (41), Christian Dorbandt (39), John Douglas Irwin (24), Lisa Anne Irwin (22), Laura Reagan Irwin (20), Emily Duncan Irwin (18) and Reagan Frederick Chambers (13).
Services will be held Monday, December 28 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, 5200 W Parkway, Groves. Visitation: 2 – 4, Funeral service: 4pm.
