Lucy DeJohn Hines August 24, 1921 - April 2, 2016

Lucy DeJohn Hines, better known as Mawmaw Hines, a lifelong resident of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016.

Lucy is preceded in death by her husband Henry Hines, her parents Angelo and Rose DeJohn, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Graybill and husband David, son Robert Hines and wife Linda Rudisell-Hines.  Lucy had 5 granddaughters Cresta Hines-Rumery and husband Kyle, Lisa Hines, Robin Hines, Erin Graybill-Ingallinera and husband Joe, and Jennifer Graybill.  She had 4 great grandchildren Olivia, Griffin, Taylor, and Juliet as well as many nieces and nephews.

Born in Port Arthur on August 24, 1921. She was a member of American Legion Auxillary and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur.  Lucy was famous for her chocolate cake and sunny disposition.  She never met a stranger and was loved by all.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Lucy’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Kevin Badeaux , officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
