Denise Kay Rogers, 64, of Groves passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

Denise was born on March 31, 1952 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Ivie Joyce (Jones) and Gerald Neil Dugas. She had lived in Port Neches and Groves most of her life. Denise enjoyed the outdoors; especially working in her yard and flower garden. She loved watching Dancing with the Stars every Monday night with her daughter and she was an avid Cowboys fan. Denise was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed dearly.

Denise is preceded in death by her mother, Ivie Joyce Dugas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mandy Cannon and husband, Mac of Port Neches; her father, Gerald Dugas of Port Arthur; her twin brother, Dennis Dugas and wife, Pat of Port Arthur; her brother, Darrell Dugas and wife, Carolyn of Port Neches; her nieces, Nicole Dugas of Groves, Sunni Carter of Port Neches; nephew, Donnie Dugas of Port Arthur. She is also survived by her dog, Precious, her cat, Bella and Mandy’s furry animals, Abby and Roxy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 5:00 pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 3:00 pm until service time. Rev. Clay Faulk will be officiating. Cremation will follow the services under the direction of Clayton Thompson funeral Home.

My sympathies to Denise's family. I went to school with her forever ago. My 84 year old mother has dementia, but when I asked her if she remembered Denise, she said, "She was a twin." I always wondered where she had gone, and I really hate to hear the news today. God bless you all.
