Ted Edward Benoit March 25, 1939 - June 9, 2016

Ted Edward Benoit, 77, of Starks, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

He was born on March 25, 1939 to Hulda Westlund Benoit and Waddy Benoit near Cameron, Louisiana. Ted was a former resident of Port Arthur before moving to Starks in 1991. He served in the U. S. Navy, worked on tug boats and in various plants in the area. Ted was affiliated with Parkwood Baptist Church of Gist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters, Joyce Landry and Norma Thomas.

Ted is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Ranolls Benoit of Starks, Louisiana, his daughter, Terri Lynn Wood and husband, Mike of Vinton, Louisiana, step-daughter, Tammy Ranolls Bloom of Orange, Texas, step-son, Kenneth A. Ranolls and wife, Sophia of Bridge City, Texas, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He is also survived by his three sisters, Charlene Prejean of Fannett, Texas, Linda Broussard and husband, Dennis of Fannett, Texas, Janice Rosales of Bellingham, WA.,

two brothers, John Benoit and wife, Ester of Port Arthur, Texas, Waddy Benoit, Jr. and wife, Bing of the Phillipines.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Ted’s life will be at 2:00 PM Monday, June 13, 2016 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Brother Ron Butler, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens in Nederland.
