Kayla Alexis Turner December 11, 1997 - June 22, 2016

Kayla Alexis Turner, 18, of Groves, Texas a bright shining light to all who knew her went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in Houston, Texas.

She was born on December 11, 1997 to Brandy Ash and Nathan Turner in Nederland, Texas. Kayla recently graduated from Nederland High School Class of 2016 and had been accepted into Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas for fall semester. She planned to earn a degree in English and become a teacher. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Groves. Raised by her great grandmother, JoAnn Buff and great grandfather, Aubrey LeJunie of Groves who loved her, nurtured her and put her on the right path.

She is survived by her great grandparents, her mother, Brandy Ash of Port Neches, her father, Nathan Turner of Houston, her maternal grandmother, Cindy Buff of Port Neches, her maternal grandfather, Gerald Ash of Port Neches, her half-sister, LuLu Messer of Corpus Christi, her uncles, J. J. Ash of Groves, Shane Buff, and her great uncles, Scott Buff and Jonathan Buff and his wife, Terri along with numerous cousins, special friends, Yael, Max, Reece, Logan and many others.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A service to honor Kayla’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Groves. Entombment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
