Kathryn "Kathy" Easley
October 8, 1946 - August 6, 2016
Kathryn “Kathy” Easley, 69, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 8, 1946 to Edith Pearl Jacobs-Beard and Lester Simmons in Port Arthur, Texas. Kathy was a lifelong resident of the area. She obtained her Nursing degree from Lamar-Port Arthur. She retired as a Registered Nurse from Park Place Hospital and the Medical Center of Southeast Texas after 29 years of service. Kathy was affiliated with Trinity Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Jimmy H. Easley.
Kathy is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Garriga of Port Arthur, Regina Rhodes and husband, Michael of Lumberton, her son, Richard Easley and wife, Debra of Port Arthur, her six grandchildren, Angel Lee (Brian), Kari Robbins (Jordan), Aaron Easley (Alex), Shae Godeaux (Eric), D. J. Garriga and Ryan Rhodes, her five great grandchildren, Adilynn, Remington, Maverick, David and Daniel with Baby Robbins due in November.
She is also survived by her sisters, Judith Reynolds of Hull, Texas, Paulette Disney and husband, Mike of Athens, Texs, Nancy Stein and husband, Robert of Saratoga, Texas, Laura Taylor of Rye, Texas and her brother, Richard Simmons and wife, Pam of Meadows Place, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Graveside service for Kathy will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors.
