Elsie Marie Welch October 1, 1929 - September 2, 2016

Elsie Guillot Welch, 86, of Groves passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 at her residence.

Elsie was born on October 1, 1929 in Port Arthur to parents Ida Marie (Trahan) and Joicin Guillot. She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and Groves area. Elsie was employed with Chevron as a clerk and retired after 38 years. She enjoyed going to Dam B and the beach; spending time with her family. Elsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly.



She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerry and Erwin Guillot; son in law, Leslie Burke.

Elsie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Allen Welch of Groves; daughter, Cynthia Welch Burke of Groves, grandson, Troy Shiflet of Groves; granddaughter, Tara Shiflet of Groves, great grandson, Allen Shiflet and sister in law, Phyllis Hebert Seabrook.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 2 pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends 2 hours prior to service time. Rev. J.C Coon will be officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
