John Thomas Little, 72, of Port Arthur passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

John was born on January 27, 1944 in Port Arthur to parents Dealie (Youngblood) and Charlie Solomon Little. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. John and his father owned and operated a lawn care service for many years. John enjoyed working on cars, watching cowboy movies and smoking his corn cob pipe. John was a loving person who will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Wilson Little; his sister, Ruth Williams.

Those left to cherish John’s memory include his sisters, Jewell M. Ensley of Wichita, KS, Mildred Euline Foster of Groves, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A service to honor John’s life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the funeral home, with Rev. Tommy Welch officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Johnny. I can remember as a teenager, he would come get a bunch of us & take us riding in his Ford Mustang! May God be with each & everyone of the sisters & their families. God bless you all!

After meeting him over 40 years ago, I've known him as "Uncle Johnny" ... after my late wife Belinda (his niece) introduced us. Uncle Johnny was always cheerful and loving, working hard to overcome his disabilities with grace and dignity. I'm grateful that I was able to visit him just a few months ago and am thankful to have known him. Rest in peace Uncle Johnny ...
