James A. Cozad, Sr. December 5, 1925 - December 13, 2016

James A. Cozad, Sr., 91, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his home.

He was born on December 5, 1925 to Grace Eakin Cozad and William K. Cozad in Franklin, Pennsylvania. James came to this area in 1937. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. James retired from Texaco as a plant inspector after 40 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur.

He was preceded in death by; his loving wife, Irma Jean Cozad; his brothers Bill, Mark, Fred; his sisters Leona Howard, Grace Brent; his brother-in-law, Vic Cousins and his son-in-law, Capt. Larry Lynch.

He is survived by: his children Jimmy Cozad and wife Marsha, Brenda Lynch, Don Cozad and wife Ann, Bryan Cozad and wife Nancy and Rachel Redfearn; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; his sister, Patty Cousins; his sisters-in-laws Melva, Marjorie, Shirley.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves. Service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved father. We so enjoyed getting to visit with Jimmy just a couple years ago and back in 1996 when we visited with our sons. Jim and Irma had such warm hospitality. God bless you all.
