Freida Hart Rode July 18, 1926 - February 3, 2017

Freida Hart Rode, 90, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

She was born on July 18, 1926 to Edna Nichols Fann and Joseph Jackson Fann, Sr. in Port Arthur, Texas. Freida was a lifelong resident of the area and was affiliated with Fellowship Baptist Church in Nederland. She was a devoted homemaker in caring for her family.

Freida was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arnold R. Rode, Jr., her brother, Joseph Jackson Fann, Jr. and her sister, Ruth F. Gulley

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Schleiffer and husband, Dr. Richard of Groves, her two sons, Ronnie Rode and wife, Maureen of Humble and Glen Rode of Beaumont.

Freida is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Chris Schleiffer, Richard Schleiffer, Beverly Reynal (John), Ann Schleiffer, Troy Camp, Jennifer Rode, Amanda Pennartz (Michael) and Darren Rode (Christina) along with eight great grandchildren, Lana, Eliza, Breken, Bane, Kathryn, Carolyn, Maddy and Bennett.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 1:00 PM till service time at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Freida’s life will be at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
