Jeffrey "Jeff" Peyton Childs
November 6, 1972 - February 25, 2017
Jeffrey “Jeff” Peyton Childs, 44, of Port Neches passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
Jeff was born on November 6, 1972 in Bossier, Louisiana to parents Kathy Lee (Salter) and Roy Peyton Childs. He is a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy. Jeff retired after 20 years as a Major in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and was owner and operator of Capri Club in Port Arthur. Jeff enjoyed going fishing, hunting, was an avid Saints football fan, kept up with political issues, and music. Jeff was a loving person who will be missed dearly by all.
Those left to cherish Jeff memory are his wife, Bonnie Joleen (Bertrand) Childs of Port Neches, TX; his parents, Peyton and Kathy Childs of Shreveport, LA; grandmother, Elva King of Mississippi; his pride and joy his children, Walker Shook and Shana Chambers of Dallas, TX, Gunner Childs of Lufkin, TX, Taber Childs of Lufkin, TX, Sarina Musick and husband, Daniel, and their son Axel of Lufkin, TX, Journey Childs of San Marcos, TX, his sister, Jennifer Childs of Dallas and numerous friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering off family and friends from 5 pm until service time. The family will gather after the Memorial Service at the Capri Club to share all your wonderful memories and how Jeff touched your life. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
