Gladys Marie Bourge Mayers, 99, of Port Acres, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at her home in Port Acres.

She was born on December 24, 1917 to her parents, Numa J. Bourge and Esperie Landry Bourge in Abbeville, Louisiana. Gladys has been a resident of Port Acres for 75 years and was a caring and devoted homemaker in raising her family along with her husband, Deluke. She was a longtime member of St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres. Gladys was also a member of St. Gerard Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister and her husband, Deluke J. Mayers.

Gladys is survived by her son, Robert Mayers and wife, Ella Mae of Abbeville, Louisiana, her two daughters, Linda Veillon and husband, Wilson of Port Acres, Pat Picou and husband, Donald of Port Acres. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory.

She is also survived by her sister, Bernice Bourg of Houma, Louisiana along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 9:00 AM till 11:00 AM at St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday at the church with Rev. Rejimon George serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves.
