Glenn Phillip Laird August 18, 1951 - November 12, 2017

Glenn Phillip Laird, 66, of Port Acres, Texas died on the morning of Sunday, November 12, 2017 after a heroic battle from cancer.

Glenn was born to Versey Mae and Andrew Buford Laird on August 18, 1951 in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a the 7th son of 8 children and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. He worked as an operator for the Gulf Oil and retired from Chevron; traveling the world as a product integrity coordinator. He enjoyed playing softball for the Spillers, hunting in west Texas, playing golf and attending church.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Lindsey and Phillip; his grandchildren, Alexa, Jameson, Zoey and Caden. Also survived by his brothers, Bo, John and George.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Juanita, Butch, Jurl and Max.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a rosary to be prayed at 7 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres. Celebrant will be Rev. Rejimon George. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.

The family would like to thank all who, participated at his funeral, his burial, sent cards, flowers and visited with Glenn.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to MD Anderson or to charity of your choice in the loving memory of Glenn Laird.

So sorry to hear of your passing.First real date I ever went on was a double date with you and we got the car stuck in mud.Took all night to find someone to pull us out!!You were always a gentleman,a father your kids should look up to!You will be greatly missed!
