Steve Eugene Reed August 16, 1946 - November 28, 2017

Steve Eugene Reed, 71, of Groves passed away on November 28, 2017 at his home.

He was born on August 16, 1946 to his parents, Riley Reed and Ella Mae Whitton Reed in Port Arthur, Texas. Steve graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1964. He retired from Ameripol Synpol as a pipefitter after 25 years of service. Steve was a member of the local pipefitters union. He also worked as a barber in the Snell Shop Center for 11 years. Steve was a member of the Christian Fellowship Worship Center in Beaumont.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Robbie Reed of Groves, his two sons, Colby Reed of The Woodlands and Josh Reed of Port Neches, two grandchildren, Landon Reed and Braylen Reed. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Reed of Groves and his brother, Kenneth Reed and wife, Debbie of Jasper along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Steve’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, December 1, 2017 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home with Pastor Rick White, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Steve has been my Big Brother for 65 years. Words can not express how much I love him and how much I will miss him and his humor we shared daily. We never missed a chance to get one in on each other or double up on Robbie. RIP, see you soon.
