Mary L. Scoggins December 20, 1937 - February 24, 2018

On Saturday, February 24, 2018, Mary Columbo Scoggins, peacefully passed away in her home at the age of 80 years.

She was born December 20, 1937 in Port Arthur, Texas to Ferdie and Sylvia Columbo. Mary was a resident of Port Arthur until 2014. She has lived with her son, Blake Blanco and granddaughter, Brigit Blanco in Fort Worth, Texas for three years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Henry Ira Scoggins, Jr.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Joe Columbo and wife, Nelda; son, Blake Blanco; two daughters, Pam Bean and husband, Darrell, Jill Scoggins and husband, David; three grandchildren, Brigit Blanco and fiancé, Gregory, Todd Bean and wife, Tracy, and Jamie Bean; two great-granddaughters, Kendall and Kylie Bean.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the funeral home, celebrant will be Rev. J. C. Coon. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ASPCA (A Local Animal Shelter) or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

I would like to thank you Aunt Mary for always treating me like my own mother. I would of said like your own son, but I think you treated me better than Blake.We will dearly miss you and that oven brisket that was to die for! I was sorry to hear of Marys death. I graduated with her and worked with her at Port Arthur Abstract. I thought a lot of her.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mary. Joy and I went on many golf outings with Mary and Ira over the years. What a wonderful lady and great friend. May the love and grace of God ease your sorrow and loss.
