Luis A. Merren, 90, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at his son's home in Mansfield, Texas.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 10 AM until 12 Noon at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 12 Noon at the funeral home, celebrant will be Rev. Rejomon E. George.

Luis was a native of Guanaja, Honduras (Bay Islands) and had lived in Port Arthur area for 61 years. He was a retired seaman who sailed on the Texaco New York for 35 years.

He is preceded in death by his, parents; his wife, Graciela A. Merren and his son, Carlos E. Merren.

Luis is survived by his sons, Luis A. Merren Jr., Gilbert Merren and his wife, Cindy all residing in the Dallas area; granddaughter, Ashley Thomann and her husband, Danny, great granddaughter, Adacyn Grace Thomann and his grandson, Rafael Merren. He is also survived by his sisters, Juanita Girouard and her husband, Leon of Nederland, Naomi Moore and her husband, Seabert of Tampa.
