Socorro "Cokey" Soliz Reyna November 17, 1928 - March 29, 2018

Socorro “Cokey” Soliz Reyna, 89 of Port Arthur passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 17, 1928 to her parents, Luis Soliz and Petra Collazo Soliz in Port Arthur, Texas. Cokey graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1947. She has lived in Port Arthur for most of her life. Cokey was a retired seamstress, she worked at Lee Martin, Roy Andrews and Gingiss Formal Wear over her 30 years of service. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, active in the Altar Linens, member of the Altar Society, the Senior Club and los damas Guadalupanas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, Joe, Jesse and Marcelino Soliz and her two sisters, Janie Soliz and Toby Montalvo along with her husband, Gregory David Reyna, Sr.

Cokey is survived by her daughter, Linda Rose Hoofnagle and her husband, Tom of Klein, Texas, her step-son, Gregory David Reyna, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Houston, Texas, her five grandchildren, Jerome Hoofnagle and his wife, Kristi of Houston, Texas, David Hoofnagle of Los Angeles, California, Jennifer Hoofnagle of New York City, New York, Kurt Reyna of Houston and Bryan Reyna of Astoria, New York along with two great grandchildren, Emma Rose and Jake Gregory Reyna.

She is also survived by her sister, Carmen Leon and her husband, Arthur of Port Arthur, her brother-in-law, Jesse Montalvo of Port Arthur along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Rev. Urbano  Sáenz Ramírez will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations to be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in memory of Cokey.
