Daniel F. Frederick

Daniel F. Frederick, 77, of Groves passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves.

He was born on November 25, 1940 to his parents, Leonard Frederick and Gladys David Frederick in Kaplan, Louisiana. Daniel has been a resident of the area since 1952. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1959. Daniel served in the U. S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired from Central Freight as a truck driver with 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Port Arthur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Darold Frederick and Freddy John Frederick, his sister, Nora Miley.

Daniel is survived by his two daughters, Kim Ducote and husband, Kevin of Jasper, Texas, Cindy Brister and husband, Warren of Groves, his son, Daniel Frederick and wife, Shelly of Groves, six grandchildren, Neely K. May, Chelsea K. Ducote, Jack Wood, Leigh Ann Frederick, Erica Lee and Christopher Sellers, 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Daniel’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, June 25, 2018 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
