Mary Helen Espinoza

Mary Helen Almonte Espinoza, 76, of Port Arthur passed away on Tuesday, December 07, 2021 at Oak Grove Nursing Home.

Mary was born in Port Arthur, Texas on December 21, 1944 to parents Annie (Martinez) and Mike Almonte Sr.. She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and she attended St. Joseph and St. Peter Catholic Church. She retired from Wal-Mart after 18 years of employment as a salesperson. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, reading, singing in the church choir and in her younger years loved to go dancing. Mary was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and she will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Espinoza, her parents, Mike and Annie Almonte, Sr. and her brother, Mike Almonte Jr.

Mary is survived by her son, Peter Ray Espinoza, her daughters, Annie Espinoza Hanusch and her husband, Edward of Orange, Josephine Kapalski and her husband, Michael of Dayton, her brothers, Rudy Almonte of California, Paul Almonte of Houston, Joe Almonte and his wife Dora of Corpus Christi, David Almonte and his wife Letty of Buna, Rodger Almonte of Port Arthur. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, with a gathering of family and friends from 10:00 AM until service time. Celebrant will be Rev. David Edwards of St. James Catholic Church. The family will pray a rosary after the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date.
