Sandra Anne Landry, 78, of Port Acres, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024. Born on December 18, 1945, in Port Arthur, Texas, Sandra was a dedicated nurse and a beloved mother and grandmother. She retired 22 years of steadfast service as a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, where her compassion and care for others left a lasting impact on many lives.
Sandra's love for children was a defining aspect of her life. She enjoyed her time working at both the nursing home and daycare, finding joy in caring for the young and the elderly alike. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life; she was also a devoted caretaker for her mother, demonstrating her deep-rooted commitment to family.
An avid gardener, Sandra found solace in working in her yard and tending to her plants with the same love she gave to her family. She delighted in traveling, reading, dancing and sewing, hobbies that filled her life with fulfillment and creativity.
Sandra actively participated in her faith as a parishioner of The Little Flower Catholic Church in Port Acres. Her dedication to her community and her passion for helping others were evident in all that she did.
She is survived by her children, Laura Peltier and her husband Chad of Port Arthur, Texas; James Arabie, Jr. and his wife Erica of Groves, Texas; and Deborah Ward and her husband Bradley of Beaumont, Texas. She also leaves behind her beloved fur pup, Missy, along with a large and loving group of grandchildren: John James, Jr., Jewel Melancon and husband Nolan; Deion Adkins and wife Katherine; Quintin Peltier and wife Destiney; Ashleigh Ward, Krysta Ward, Hailey Arabie, Gavin Zamora, Linkyn Arabie, Hawk Arabie, Guinn Campbell, Amos Campbell, Margaret Melancon, Lilly Adkins, Presleigh Ward, Parker Barrera, Emma Copeland, and Maddison Copeland.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Grace and Willis J. Landry, Sr., as well as her brothers, Billy Mark Landry, Patrick Landry, Kevin Landry, and Joey Landry. Their memory will be cherished alongside hers.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at The Little Flower Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas.
Sandra Anne Landry’s legacy of love, care, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
