Paula Gonzales Membreno

Paula Gonzales Membreno, 76, of Groves passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at home.

She was born on December 25, 1943 in Nicaragua to Marcelina Membreno. She has lived in the Port Arthur and Groves area for 30 plus years. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur and she was a member of the Damas Guadalupanas. We the family were blessed to have her in our lives; her positive attitude, she was a hard working lady, she was a very spiritual person, and she enjoyed watching and taking care of kids. She made sure her kids had a proper upbringing and a good education. Paula was a very loving person who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marcelina, her sons, Jimmy Obregon, Alan Obregon, Roberto C. Obregon and her brother, Julio Gonzales.

She is survived by her children, Yuri Obregon and his wife, Gloria of Port Arthur, Roberto Carlos “Chale” Obregon and his wife, Karla of Port Arthur, Doris Siebert and her husband, Gustavo of Groves, her daughter in law, Mirian Chicas of Groves, Theresa Obregon of Nederland. She is also survived by her seventeen grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with the Damas Guadalupanas praying the rosary at 12:00 noon. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens in Nederland.
