O. D. Godwin Jr.

O. D. "Jack" Godwin, Jr.,92, of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

He was born on April 16, 1928 in Bowie County, Texas to his parents, O. D. Godwin, Sr. and Mary Ruth Shackelford Godwin. Jack has been a resident of the area since 1960. He served in US Navy during WWII, stationed in Okinawa. Jack retired as a welder working for Gulfport Shipyard and Coastal Marine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Nora, Hazel, Laverne and J. T.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Jones Godwin of Port Arthur; his two daughters, Mary Moreland and Jackie Riley both of Dallas; his two sons, Terry Godwin of Groves, Jerry Godwin of Beaumont and his step-son, Chris Griffin of Mauriceville along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves. The family is honoring his wishes of no service to be scheduled.
